One of our highlight excursions was a SeaTrek Helmet dive in St Maarten. It was a great experience. Basically you put this 75LB helmet on you head (it does not feel very heavy underwater) climb down the ladder and explore. We were 20 feet below, and we did not need any scuba certification. You have a constant supply of air, the helmet does not seal against you body in anyway, it rest comfortable on your shoulders. The concept is pretty simple once the lady explains it to you, it is the same as turning a cup upside down in water, the helmet creates an air pocket that your head is in. We were able to spend about 20-25 minutes underwater and we really enjoyed ourselves as you can see from the pictures below.

I have completed my move to wordpress. I completed the move of my blog last night with the help of Sean’s little utility, blogcfc2wordpress. I had to install wamp on my windows coldfusion box, I also had to download an old version of wordpress (2.1) as somewhere along the lines the database names were changed and blogcfc2wordpress has not been updated. I then downloaded WordPress Export, exported my data and imported it into my new blog. I fixed the post that I used blogcfc’s more and code tags on. All in all a pretty easy migration with a little data massage.

A few months ago we got invited to join Google’s new training program. Thursday afternoon I was able to pass the Google Earth Pro trainer certification. I have learned a ton about Google Earth pro in the last few weeks; it is a very impressive little program. From importing GIS data to create graphs, creating 3D building in Sketchup, or adding photos on Panoramio. If you have not checked it out it is well worth a download, as I learned you can do a lot more than just look at your house from above. Had a great time this evening Segwaying around downtown Atlanta. About a week ago in an effort to find something different to do, I was poking around Holiday inn’s Ultimate Experiences section. I discovered Atlanta Segway tours. Decided to give it a try, this was my second time on a segway, rode one for less than 15 minutes at a company I was doing training for a few years back. Like Lisa (our tour guide) it is a lot like riding a bike. In less than 5 minutes I was up and going again. The video they make you watch ahead of time is a little unnerving, but in my opinion it is pretty easy and just takes a little common sense to ride. The weather was beautiful, and the price to play ($60 bucks) is well worth it. In truth it really could not have been a bad experience seeing as I had the best company in the world to enjoy this with I will put up a few pictures I snapped later, I am off to bed – work in the morning.

My mom for some reason decided to clean out her junk drawer today. She found this Mnemonic to remember all the presidents. It is from her high school days so the last presidents are not included. It needs a new sentence for Jimmy Carter, Ronald Regan, 1st George Bush, Bill Clinton, and 2nd George Bush. Any ideas add a comment.

Washington and Jefferson made many a joke. Van Buren has told Polk that fine people break laws. Johnson got his gain and called himself clever. McKinley rode the white horse. Coolidge helped Roosevelt to enjoy knitting jerseys neatly forever.

I spent Christmas Day with the family, Mom, Dorian, and Steven. We had a great time. From the great joke Steven was able to play on my Mom and Dorian. A couple of weeks ago Steven had my Mom wrap a key chain picture frame for my sister. He told her not to tell my sister anything about it. A few days later he tells my sister to wrap a key chain picture frame for Mom. He told her not to tell Mom anything about it. Christmas day he has them open them at the same time. Neither of them had a clue.

We spent the afternoon at the Georgia Aquarium. It was great, for a change it was not packed.

I was talking with someone the other day about google people’s names. I used to google my name when I first started blogging just to see what would come up. It had been a while so I decided to google my name today. I am lucky, as Damon Ledet seems to be a pretty unique name combination, so to my knowledge the results usually pertain to me. Any other “Damon Ledet”s out there? I would love to know if someone else has the same name. Back to the google weirdness, It returned 7670 results for a search of “Damon Ledet” I could not see how this was possible, I start going thought the results and at page 91 google stops returning 901-909 of 7670 results. I took a screen shot below. So really I have 909 results but for some reason the index thinks I have 7670. What is up with that?

My Dad, Sister and Family came up to Atlanta for the Thanksgiving Holidays, and of course no trip to Atlanta can be complete without seeing the World of Coca-Cola. We loaded all the family up and made the trek downtown. All the kids got their full of the “carbonated drugs” at the end. Lincoln was the cutest when he tells me his stomach is bubbling and about to explode, he is five.

Steven and I went down to the Acura dealership about a week ago. I traded in my TSX for a RDX and I am really enjoying it. Took me a little time to get the pictures up as I have been doing some site backend programming since I moved off of blogcfm, where my photo albums were hosted. The backend is not done yet but I can at least upload photos without opening SQL enterprise manager.
