A couple of days ago I took the plunge and purchased a Samsung Blackjack. I was holding off on getting a pda phone, being an Apple fanboy I had my eye on the iPhone, however when I found out this first version did not support 3g I passed. I figure the next iPhone will support it and I can always upgrade then. I am very happy with the blackjack so far. I have had 2 days of pretty heavy use and the normal battery is just dwindling now, it also came with an extended battery but it is twice the size and makes the back bulge a bit. I only downloaded Google Maps for mobile and am waiting for yahoo to release the blackjack version of Yahoo Go. All in all it is a great little phone at a great price.

I too just got a Blackjack. Had a treo 650. I’ve got to tell you, the deal breaker here is that there doesn’t seem to be a "Chattermail + emailtreo" equivalent for Windows Mobile. Are you familiar with that set up? How have you configured the email on your Blackjack? Thanks

I configured my gmail account on my blackjack just follow the directions at http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/gettingstarted/smartphone/email/default.mspx I never used a treo so I am not sure if it is exactly the same. I have also just ran the at&t branding update found at http://erms.samsungusa.com/customer/sea/jsp/faqs/faqs_view.jsp?PG_ID=557&AT_ID=83176&PROD_SUB_ID=558&PROD_ID=-1 (make sure popup blocker is off)

Damon, does your blackjack have Windows Mobile 5 or 6? I recently upgraded my T-Mobile Dash to WM6 and found it really increased application speed. I’m curious to know if they’ve adapted it to the blackjack yet.

No the Blackjack is still at WM5 I do not think it will get WM6 until the end of June.

I followed the directions to set up my Gmail in WM 5, but I am still
unable to see my emails. Any suggestion on how to correct this?
Let me know…. Thanks TM

You do need to go into your gmail account settings under Forwarding and POP/IMAP and enable IMAP. Hope that helps, also you might want to upgrade to WM6 at http://www.samsung.com/us/i607/windowsupgrade
